About:

Is there anyway i can purchase the train ticket from shanghai to beijing?

Hi, I am arriving at pudong airport. do i need to stay in shanghai a day or two before i can purchase thru online? is a round trip. but i need a hotel to stay near to train station as i travel with my family. any suggestion and idea from any one here.

Well, you can buy the ticket when you arrived at the airport. However, I suggest you book the ticket in advance. It causes inconvenience if the tickets are sold out when you arrive.
It's not necessary for you to stay in the city one or two day before. In order to make your trip more convenient, you need to find a hotel near to Hongqiao Railway Station.
What's the budget of your accomodation? I know a hotel named SH Hongqiao Airport Hotel (Air China). It provides good environment and warm service. The fare is CNY 400 to 500 per night. It's located at the Dparture Hall of Terminal 2. Hope you like. :-)
