About:Chinese Embassies in Asia

I am form India and I want to visit shanghai for 5 days as a tourist

so please guide me how to get Visa. I am a student in India so can I get student type? if yes then how??

Sorry, you can't get the student type, as it's issued for those who intend to study in China. Instead, you should apply for the L type. Go to the CVASC office in India and submit the following materials: a valid passport with a validity of at least six months and two blank pages, a photocopy of the passport's data page, a filled application form glued with your recent passport size photo, and round way tickets and hotel room booking records.
