We live in Ottawa and we would like to take a cruise in April 2016 but we are snowbirds and we live in Florida, USA for the winter and we do not come back to Ottawa before beginning of April. Our passports expires May 17, 2017 and we need our passports to go in the States and to come back which is April 2016.

Nicole, your passport is ok. It just requires that the validity is still at least six months. Yours is valid for nearly a year. Don't worry. And it takes just four or five working days to deal with your application. In total, you need 7 days if you include the weekends. So I think you may have time to apply from the CVASC branches in your country.
