Can I apply for a L visa in Tokyo if I am a national from Spain? what to do and how long it takes?

Greetings,
I am from Spain and I am currently traveling through Japan but I intend to visit a friend that lives in Beijing and then stay at her house. At first I asked about the 72h exemption but they told me I cant use it because the trip would be from Tokyo to Beijing and then back to Tokyo, and that I better try for an L type.
Thanks for your time.

Yes, you should apply for a L type. Your passport, completed application form, a recent passport photo, an invitation letter from your friend, a copy of his Chinese ID card or his passport and visa pages are required. Besides, you should provide your valid entry record to Japan. At last, you need to find a qualified travel agency to apply on your behalf.
