Philippine passport holder, resident in China want to have a short trip to Japan

Hi! I would appreciate it if anybody can help me with my queries.
I am a Filipino and I am holding a resident permit in China. I am also holding a one year multiple visa to Australia. My partner (from New Zealand) and I want to go to Japan for a holiday for a week. What is my chance of getting it? I know that it's not easy to get a Japan entry for Filipinos... but being a resident in China does it make any difference? Thanks

Cheekee, according to what I know, Japan has published a notice for substantial relaxstion for entry requirements. It says for those applicants residing outside of their countries of origin (Philippines, Indonesia, and Vietnam), it will now become possible to apply at the diplomatic mission which has jurisdiction over their place of residence. Anyway, you can dial the number 010-6532-2007 to get contact with the Japan embassy for consultation.
