How is the Silk Road used today?

Karen, I am afraid that this road isn't used as the trade route between China and other western countries. However, China and other countries on the road cooperate together to discover the tourism value of the road. According to what I know, some cultural relics along the road have been included into the UNESCO's heritage list. It will attract more and more people to come and visit.
