The latest news report was that the path connecting JSL and SMT was still closed.

Oh, that's good news. Could you write a little more about your hike to SMT? Did you do a reservation for the entrance ticket?
We are going to go there in May, and are thankful for any detailed information.

Hello Tina. SMT is open now but the pass to JSL is still closed. And you can reserve a ticket for SMT on its officia website. Good luck~
