Do I need visa to travel to Korea?

I'm studying mandarin for one year in Xi'an. This vacation my friend from Korea invited me to her home. I don't know if I need to apply for the entry permit to travel, and where do I deal with the process if I need one.

By "Korea", do you mean "South Korea" or "North Korea"? If you plan to go to South Korea, you don't need one as long as your visit there is not more than 30 days. If you destination is North Korea, you are required to get one.
