Do I need to get a visa for Guang Zhou?

Hi, I am a U.S. citizen and planning on flying into Hong Kong then going to train into Guang zhou on that same day. I will be staying less than 78 hours in Guang Zhou as I need to catch my departure flight out of Hong Kong. Do I need to get an entry permit for Guang Zhou?

Yes, you need to apply for a L type through the embassy in the US or Commisioner Office in Hong Kong by submitting your valid passport, a photocopy of the data page, a filled application form, a recent photo, and roundtrip tickets and hotel reservatons.
