About:Marriage Registration in China

How to apply a visa for my Indonesian Wife

Hi. I am moving to China for work and my wife is Indonesian. How can I apply for it for her. We are married in Hong Kong.

Where does she live? If she is in Indonesia, she needs to prepare the required documents and apply from Chinese embassy there. If you can tell which kind you are going to apply for her, I can tell the required documents.

She is in Hong Kong with me. I am still working here and she is also working here. She has a HK ID. I am moving to China in April and I want something like a dependant pass for her so she can stay there with me for the time of my contract

She can submit the application to the Office of the Commisioner of Foreign Affairs Ministry for the S type. Documents needed are her passport and a phtocopy of the data page, a filled applcation form affixed with her recent pasport photo, the original and photocopy of her HK ID, the photocopy of your passport and residence card in China, an invitation letter from you, and the original and photocopy of your marriage certificate.

So after we have submitted all the documents she can also work there or only visit?

The office is on the 3rd Floor, China Resources Building, 26 Harbour Road, Wanchai, Hong Kong SAR. Even though she get the S type, she can only live and visit in China and can't work. If she wants to work in China, she has to apply for a Z type instead of S type.
