About:Embassy of Portugal in China

Single Status affidavit

I am an American working in China and will be marrying a Portuguese citizen, who is also working in China, in Portugal.
From where do I have to apply for Single status affidavit,how long will it take to be issued and how much do I have to pay?

John, you can apply for the Single Status Affidavit at the US embassy or consulate in China. You can get it done on the day you go to the embassy. Some consulate may require you to take your fiancee there and swear an oath befoe the officer. Normally, the fee is 50 US dollars.
