About:Chinese Consulate in Chicago

Affidavit of Eligibility to Marry

Hello. I am a US citizen who wishes to marry a Chinese woman. I understand that I need an Affidavit of Eligibiligy to Marry. Can I get this from the consulate in Chicago?

Hi, you need to get an Affidavit of single status with Chinese translation to be notarized by a local notary public, then get it be authenticated or certified by the Secretary of the State in which the document is executed, then the Chinese Consulate-General. Does a US citizen who is single need to provide a certificate of single status when marrying within US?
