hi, i'm planning to visit hohhot in the middle of january next year.worth it?

Some of the places I'd like to visit is Da Zhao Temple, The Temple of Five Pagodas, Great Mosque, Inner Mongolia Museum and possibly Xilamuren grassland. Will it be worth it to visit those places (especially the grassland) and the city  in general during winter?

Oh, it's not an appropriate time to visit the grassland, because you cannot see the flourishing scene of grassland.. For other places, it is OK. The temperature during that period of time is -2.2 F to 37.4 F. It's very cold. Maybe you can change your travel plan. Spring and summer are good seasons for you to choose.
