Applying for a new Chinese passport

I am a Chinese student studying in America. My Chinese passport has expired at the end of September, 2014. I need to apply for a new one.

I could not find a photo booth that takes the right size of the digital photo that is required to submit the application. What is the best way to get the photo taken for the application?

And how long does it take for the whole process of getting a new passport? Thank you very much!

Zhao, some Chinese consulates do provide photo-taking service. I think you may contact Chinese consulate in Los Angeles
Tel: 213-201-1765
Email: losangeles_consulatehotmail.com

By the way, it takes around 15 working days to deal with your application.
