China Transit Visa 24 hour exemption

We are travelling from Manila to New Delhi and have a 17 hour lay-over in Guangzhou, China. I saw that we are exempted for the Chinese Transit type but can't get out of the airport. We are in a very tight budget and can't afford other flight itinerary.

I would like to ask if we can request for an exemption to go out and experience good food and even sunlight for a few hours before going back inside the airport. Our plane will arrive China 2:45PM and leaves for New Delhi 7:30AM the next day. Thanks guys!

Well, it's ok for you to exit the airport to try some food and enjoy the sunlight for a few hours. You just need to apply for a stay permit when you land at the airport. It's easy to get the permit for free.
