About:China Visa

dependent visa for minor children

hi i would like to ask if you can give me some information on how to apply for a child dependent one for my son. i am working hete in china andi would.like to apply my son as my dependent. he is coming this end of december with a tourist L and i plan to apply him as i am also renewing permit next month. what are the requirements?

It is not assured that you son can change its L type to a dependent type in China, so you are suggested to go to the local Exit-Entry Adminstration Bureau for confirming first.

For your son's situaion, the S1 type is suitable. For the S1 for your son, he needs to provide the valid passport, an application form, a recent taken photo, his birth certificate or any kinship certificiate, your valid passport and resident permit. If he cannot apply within China mainland, he can try to apply in HK, or directly apply a new S1 in Philippine since he will go to China in the end of Dec.

we already applied for the L type and he and my sister as his accompanying adult will fly to china end of this month. what is the S1 type? can i just apply this to any exit entry administration bureau in the place where i am staying?

S1 type is issued to family members of those foreigners who study or work in China. After you get the S1 type, you can change it into a temporary resident permit which allows you to stay longer in China.

If he already has he L type, he could do as I said above to apply for a S1 type after his L type expires.
