About:Chinese Consulate in Manchester

should I get my visa for a visit to China before I buy my ticket?

My son is living in China and we would like to visit him at Easter. I'm worried about having the expense of buying 2 tickets in case my application is turned down. What are the procedures? I will be going to the London embassy but cannot get through to them by phone. Thank you

If you can get an invitation letter from your son, the flight ticket is not needed.
You are suggested to apply for a L-type 1 month before you enter China. You can go to the CVASC branch in London, Machester, or Edinburgh.
Prepare the followings:passport, application form, photo, an invitation letter from your son.
