About:Mount Emei

Planning a trip to Mt. Emei this end of year, late Dec (28-29)

Just wondering does anyone have any recommended routes for visiting the summit as well as some monastaries? Of course, I would like to cram everything in one day, but if not, then I guess staying over for one night is still alright...

How long will hiking the whole mountain take? I'm thinking of taking the cable car up to the summit first, then walk back down... would that be a good idea?

I will be going to Emeishan area from Chengdu... Can anyone help?

Your route would cover Baoguo temple – Fuhu Temple – Wannian Temple – Leidongping. From Leidongping you can take cable car to go up to the Golden Summit. For the back journey, you can visit Dragon Cave Lake, Qingyin Pavilion and Yixiantian.
If you take the cable car, it would take about 2 hours to go up. It is a good idea for it will save you lots of time and energy.
One day may be too tight, you’re suggested to stay one night inside the area, and watch the sunrise the next morning.
