About:How to Buy Tickets

Identity Verification

I want to buy some tickets on 12306 for January and I face some problems for ID verification. I will buy some tickets for passengers that are not yet in China. Can I present some copy at the railway station to verify the ID ?

You can only use the passport, not the copy, to verify the identity at station.

So that means that I can't buy a ticket for someone before he comes to China, but then the tickets will be sold out already...
If I buy directly the ticket at the station or in a train ticket office is it the same thing ?

You can try from the ticket office. But it won't work in the railway station if you use a copy.
