About:Chinese Temporary Residence Permit

Do I have a problem in re-entering China?

I left my job in Beijing without giving them 60 days notice. I came home to the UK and have booked a return flight for the end of December. I am starting a new contract elsewhere but my old school said that they cannot give me the cancellation papers as it takes a long time...they suggested I start the whole Z type process again. I have a permit of residence which expires Aug 2015 so my new school said they can just change the address when I get to China. Is this right?
I'm worried that my old school are annoyed with me for leaving so I can't trust them. Do I need Z type to reenter china when I've already got a permit of residence?

The cancellation papers refers to the release letter or the cancellation letter of your work permit?
If your former employer do not provide you a cancellation letter of the work permit, you can ask them to provide you a release letter. Then with the release letter, your new employer will help you to get a new work permit.

Since you already had a resident permit, you are unable to apply for a new Work Z outside China.

aB, if you are still not assured, you can consider to contact the Chinese embassy in your country for asking. It is assured that they will tell you a suitable solution.
