Guangzhou to Wulingyuan

I am traveling to Zhangjiajie/ Wulingyuan from Guangzhou on Feb19 which is the Chinese New Year. What is the best way for me to travel by train? Initially I was going to ride the train T8316 (dep.19:58, arr.8:52) but then did some more research and found out I can take the bullet train from Guangzhou to Changsha for 2 hours and then Changsha to ZJJ by bus for 4 hours... which save me time.

1. is it safe to travel on that day?
2.will it be very crowded ?
3. If i choose option 2 (taking bullet train), where do i buy a bus ticket from Changsha to ZJJ online? I do not want to risk not having a bus ticket prior to the trip given that it is New year. I do not want to be stranded in Changsha.
4. Are there other options?

As far as I’m concerned, take the bullet train from Guangzhou to Changsha and then bus from Changsha to ZJJ would be better.
1. It would be safe by train on that day. During the Spring Festival period, security measures in train station and on the train will be strengthened, so don’t worry.
2. It would be crowded for lots of people travel by train to go back home.
3. If taking bullet train, you can take bus from Changsha Lituo High Speed Bus Station, which is located 800 yards in the south of Changsha South Railway Station (the station where you get off the train).
4. This would be the best way for you by train. Alternatively, direct flight betwen Guangzhou and ZJJ shall be a better way and the ticket reservation is needed.

Do u think I would be able to ride a bus/ buy a bus ticket easily when I get to changsha? You said there would be a lot of people traveling on that day so I'm worried I might not be able to get a bus ticket to ZJJ.

Yes, you are right that there will be crowds then, so you may take the risk of missing the bus. I know the bus tickets can be bought in advance online, but they are all Chinese versions. Try to ask your Chinese friend to get a ticket for you in advance.
