About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

Do I Qualify for the 72-Hour Visa?

I fly from Seattle to Shanghai, then Shanghai to Beijing. I never leave the airport in Shanghai, and am only there for three hours while I transfer planes. I fly from Beijing to Bangkok with a transfer in Changsha.
Do I qualify for the 72 hour free transit while in Beijing?

Since you will stop in multiple cities in China, you are unable to apply to enjoy the 72-hour free transit. You are suggested to apply for a Transit G in type in advance in your country.
