Tianjin to Hohhot by Train

Greetings, I plan to travel to Hht from Tianjin by Train in the night but wonder if it is OK to book the hard seat. I would not mind to seating throughout the 9 hours journey but not sure is it safe or rowdy with standing passengers. Thank you!

Generally speaking, it would be safe on the train. But as you know, in the hard seat rooms, there may be passengers hold standing tickets, thus the fluidity would be larger. Besides, it would be more rowdy than you take the soft/hard sleeper.
So if you really worry about that, just take a soft / hard sleeper.
