can we use the 72 hour visa free transit?

Question

I am a US citizen traveling from Manila to Bejing on 04/07/2015 arriving 11:55am and leaving for a 14 days Asian cruise on 04/10/2015 in the morning.  We departing from Tiajin and we arrive in Hong Kong on 04/24/2014 at 7:00 a.m.  We leaving for Manila on 04/27/2014 at 7:55am.   Can we use the 72 free transit?  We travel back to Hawaii on 07/29/2015

The 72-hour free transit is not available since you will leave from Tianjin by a cruise. You can consider to apply for a single entry Tourist L or a Transit G for your visiting and transitting.
