cheapest option to go from shanghai to beijing by bus

We are arriving in SH at around 11AM by boat. We need to get to Beijing by the cheapest option possible. What is our best option? Thanks a lot!

If by bus, there is only one long-distance bus that can take you to Beijing with the schedule of 16:00pm. You can take the this bus at SH General Long-distance Bus Station. The ticket fare is CNY 354 per adult. It takes 14 to 15 hours.To save time, I would suggest you to travel by high-speed train between, which can be taken at Hongqiao Railway Station and the fastest one will take you to Beijing South in around 5h. The fare is CNY553 and CNY933, respectively for a second class seat and a first class seat.
