q1 type applying for working visa z

Question

Hi, I am currently holding Q1 type, plus 1 year residence permit because my wife is Chinese. I was offered a full time job and on the way to apply for Z type. Must I leave the country for application at my home country or just simply can apply Z in Beijing? Many great thanks

According to the information I learnt, you need to exit mainland China and apply for the Z type in your country. However, you may visit Beijing Entry and Exit Management Bureau and ask if you can apply for a Z type without leaving.
