About:Marriage Registration in China

Question On Single Status Affadavit

Hello. I am an American woman working in Shanghai and looking for information on how to marry my Chinese boyfriend. Am I allowed to get this Single Affidavit from the U.S. Embassy here in Shanghai and process it there?

Yes, you can apply for a single status affadavit from US embassy or consulate in China. Then you can prepare other required documents and then register your marriage at local civil affairs bureau.
