72hrs free visa sg-to hk to shanghai to sg?

Question

Can I enjoy a 72 hr free visa to visit Shanghai with an air trip itinenary of Singapore to Hong Kong, Hong Kong to Shanghai, then Shanghai to Singapore? I am an Australian passport holder.  If I can enjoy 72hr free transit, do I get this on arrival at Shanghai and then have hotel register me since I'll be in Shanghai for around 60 hours? Pls advise. Thanking you
