About:Chinese Embassy in Japan

Transit Visa in Kunming from Japan

I am an American (USA) passport holder traveling to Nepal from Osaka Japan and I have to stop at Kunming for about 20 hrs to take my next flight to Kathmandu, Nepal. Do I need to apply a transit type in Osaka or I can get it at Kunming International Airport? Thank you

Since you only stay 20 hours in Kunming, no Transit G is needed. If you want to leave the airport, you can just apply for a stay permit to leave easilyin the airport. It is no need to tell the airline in advance.
