About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

72 hour visa free for south korean nationality who lives in dubai

I have a Korean friend who has visa in dubai, he wants to visit his friend in beijing china for 2 days, just want to ask if he needs to get visa or he can use the 72hrs free visa.

Raxis, if he flies from Dubai to Beijing and then fly back to Beijing, he won't make use of 72 hours free transit. Your friend must have legal resident permit in Dubai, right? If so, he can apply for a L type easily from Chinese embassy. He just needs to ask his friend in Beijing to send him an invitation letter together with his CHinese ID copy (if he is a Chinese) or passport information page and visa page if he is a foreigner. Then he can submit his passport, application form, a recent passport photo, a copy of his legal resident permit in Dubai and the above-mentioned documents to apply for the L type.

The L type means the Tourist type for those going to China for traveling.
