Ivan, if you want to work legally in China, you need to apply for a Z type. However, you will be required to apply for the Z type in your country. It's impossible to change from your current type to Z type directly in mainland China. In order to apply for a Z type, you should apply for the work permit at first. Your employer should assist you to get it. However, your academic degree, contract and other documents are required for the work permit application. But you can't provide it. Anyway, you may consult with your employer at first. He/she may give you some suggestions if he/she recruited foreigners before.
