Traveling to Bangkok with layover in Beijing

Hi ! I'm flying from United States to Bangkok but there is a 8.5 hour layover in Beijing china . Will we need a transit visa to leave the airport for a few hours ?

Tori, you needn't if your flight doesn't stop at any other airports in mainland China. You are eligible for 72 hours free transit in Beijing.
