About:China Transit Visa

Does 24 free transit cover flight times inside China as well as time inside airports?

I'm looking at a flight from Turkey to NZ that stops twice inside of China. The total airport transfer time is about 19 hours but the total time from when the first flight lands inside of China until when the last flight leaves China (ie. airport transfer time and flight time) is 24hrs 45mins. Does that mean that I would have to apply for a transit visa? What if I qualify at one/both of those airports for the free 72hrs inside of mainland China?

You are right. A Transit G is required, since the total time is over 24 hours and your situation is not qualified for he 72-hour free transit.

If you only stop at one airport over 24 hours, you can enjoy the 72-hour free transit.
