About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Clarifcation on technical stop

Flight 1: Phnom Penh-Beijing CZ324, flight info shows one flight number. CZ website indicates one technical stop without mentioning where (most likely within China) but flight info is under one flight.

Flight 2: Beijing-Hong Kong 72 hrs later.

Please help advise if I can still use 72-hr rule or the technical stop (despite one flight number) will make this ineligible.

Found out CZ324 has a technical stop in CAN (Guangzhou). CZ324 can also be sold separately as PNH-CAN and CAN-PEK while it is also sold as semi direct flight with one technical stop PNH-PEK. Is this really going to prevent me from utilizing the 72-hr rule? :( Please help advise.

It may affect you to enjoy the 72-hour free transit, because it requires non-stop flight to China for two journeys. If the stop place is within China, you may need to apply for a Transit G in advance.

For confirming this, you can still call the Immigration Department in Beijing airport, because they have the final right to explain the policy. Their phone number is 0086-10-56095400.
