About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

Airline carrier doesn't know anything about asking for 72-hour visa free transit in advance

We are US Citizens arriving in Chengdu from US and staying only 48 hours. Then flying to Hong Kong for 48 hours and then to Vietnam. We should qualify for 72-hour free transit, right?

It says to contact our airline carrier, but United doesn't know anything about forwarding a request for this policy in advance. What should we do?

If your flight to HK is a non-stop flight, you are qualified for this policy.
Personally speaking, you can find some news or policy details about this policy and then show to the airlines. You just need to tell the airline when you board. The news may help you to board.
