Applying for a chinese double entry visa for a uk passport holder from usa

My mum is staying with me in the USA. She is wanting me to investigate applying for a double entry one for use on her cruise to china early next year- leaving from the UK. Can I apply for her here in the USA? where would I need to send and collect her application?
Would it be cheaper to do it from the UK?

Your mother may apply in USA and the application should be made at different embassy/consulate based on where she lives in USA. You can tell me her address, so that I can check for her.

The fee for a double entry type is 45USD, maybe cheaper. Remember to take your proof of legal status in USA when applying for her.
