american over stayed in hong kong also with a fine left to pay, can I return to hk?

I was stopped by police when a altercation broke out, I got charged with imitation to a hk woman and I was also overstayed. They took me to city jail, then I had court I which I was sentenced to one week in prison. After that they sent me to Tuen Muen immigration jail for 3 months. Then they sent me back to usa, hk bought they ticket. This happened November 2010 when I was sent back. Can I pay the fine at hk airport and or am I allowed to return. I was told by the officers who took me to the airport that I was allowed to rerurn as soon n I wanted, they just needed ro see my usa visa stamp on my passport before I returned.

You may need to consult the HK Immigration Department directly for asking this issue. Personally speaking, it is hard for you to go back to HK.

The immigration told me when I left, that I could return anytime.
