Usually, an invitation letter from you is enough. Some Chinese embassy may have different requirements. Would you mind tell me your country?

The finance source in the invitation letter means the money source wife uses in China. If you provide the money, you need to provide a proof. Some countries' embassies may also require a bank statement when applying.

You will be the inviting individual mentioned in section c and part 4.

In general, the physicial examination is not required for applying S. It is needed when she changes it to a resident permit after she enters China.
