About:China Visa

Can S2 be extedned if the family who invited you is no longer living?

My grandmother wrote a letter to invite me to China. I got an S2 visa for one year. She has recently passed away and my S2 will expire in December. How can I renew this S2 if she is no longer around? Do I need to leave China and get someone else to invite me to get another one? I do not want to leave for a while. What options do I have?

Your S2 cannot be extended in China, since your grandmother hs passed away. For extension, you need to provide your resident permit. Now, her permit may be cancelled.
You need to leave China and then apply for a Tourist L to visit China for around 30 days. If you can find someone to invite you, you can apply get another S2 or Tourist L for visiting.
