At Macau border gate, you can cross the immigration to ZH Gongbei border. U can stay for one or two days in the city. After that, at Gongbei Bus Terminal, take a direct bus to Shenzhen, where you can have a visit. Then take a ferry at Shenzhen Shekou Port to return to Macau.

Don't worry! It is easy to access for your parents. The only problem is that there may be queue at the border, so you have to wait for some time.
