Do US citizens need visa from Hong Kong to Macau?

I'm a US citizen. I'm going to be in Hong Kong for 3 days, and I want to take a day trip to Macau. Do I need one and if yes, do I need to apply for it in advance? And if I don't need it, do I just show my passport at the ferry to get on board?

You can enjoy a 30-day free enty to visit that city, so you just need to show your valid passport when necessary.
