If I book a ticket from Beijing to Shanghai can I get off at any station in between if I want to?

For example if I book a ticket for the train G145 leaving from Beijing on 1st of october and final destination is Shanghai, can I just get off the train at Changzhou station before Shanghai if I´m not intending to board the train again?
