Hi I'm going to china how much money can I carry with me and what kind of papers do I need for thanks .

According to the rule, you can take as much as 5000 USD or 20000RMB in cash. 10000 pounds equals 16245 USD. So you can't take it as much as 10000 pounds. 3078 pounds are ok.
