About:Chinese Embassy in Belgium

Shanghai through Hong Kong

Hi,

I am a Belgian citizen and am planning a 1-week stay in Hong Kong. During that week, I would spend 1 day in Shanghai (airplane travel), going back to Hong Kong at the end of the day. It seems that I don't need a visa in Shanghai (72-hour exemption), but would like a confirmation of this (does the fact that I am coming from Hong Kong change anything?)
Thank you.

Since you will fly from HK to Shanghai and then back to Shanghai, you need to have a single entry Toursit L. HK - Shanghai -HK is regarded as a round trip instead of an international transfer.
