About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

Traveling from Korea to Shanghai to Hong Kong

For the Shanghai Leg, I'm arriving at 9:50AM (Sunday) and leaving Shanghai at 10:20AM (Tuesday). So I'm wondering for PVG, when does the 72-hours actually start? Landing time or when I actual get the stay permit?

Also is there a site that I can register for the permit or do I have to do it at PVG? or can I do it in Korea.

Sorry for the newbie questions.

Thanks!

The 72-hour start from the 00:00 the next day you enter. It means it starts from 00:00 Monday for your trip. So you can enjoy this policy easily. Just remeber to tell the airline that you want to enjoy it before boarding.

You need to apply for a stay permit in the airport. Then if you live in a hotel, you do not need to register. If you live in a Chinese friend's home, you can register in local nearby PSB.
