extension letter

Helo my jw202 expiries on september 15th but i have already apply for an extension letter before then and they scan and sent me the extension through my email,and they asked my to colour print it that it will be acceptable anywhere,but some one told me that they are supposed to send me a new jw202 not extension letter pls i want to confirm if its true?

Victor, you need to apply for a X type from Chinese embassy in your country. So you'd better confirm with the embassy. If they say NO, then you should ask your school to send you a new JW202 form.
