About:Changbai Mountain

Changbaishan on Oct National Holiday

I'm planning to go there during the national holiday (unadvisable, i know, but i got no choice). Plus, was told the mountain might have less tourists than other places.

So was wondering how the weather is like in oct? will it be hard to find accommodation and stuff? anyone know if there's hostel in the area?

Hi Nashz,

I am also planning to go to Changbai over the National Holiday. I have found some hostels in Yanji for approx 34 Euros a night. I was told there are buses from Yanji to Changbai. Have you found out anything about public transport in the area, as I don't have a Chinese driving licence!

I think the weather will be cold and blustery.

I don't think so. Almost attractions in China will be very crowded, this mountain scenic area included. So to travel there, you'd better book your accommodation in advance. If you're afraid of any trouble, turn to a travel agency for all arrangements.

During that time, it will get cool even cold at nights. It's reported that the lowest temp shall be around 39F and the highest of 68F. On the mountain, the temp will be lower.

At Yanji Bus Terminal or Dongbeiya Long-distance Bus Terminal, there are buses to Erdao Baihe.
It takes 3.5-4 hours. Then you can transfer to a tourist bus or rent a car to reach.
