About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

A 3 hour overage between arrival and departure

I have booked my flight from Bali arriving into Shanghai at 7:20 am and could not get a flight out on the same airline on the Wed morning flight before 7:20 am (72 hours later) and thus booked a flight leaving from Shanghai on the same airline into Hong Kong at 10:20 am Wed...and this I am technically 3 hours over 72 hour arrival and departure times....will this three hour difference stop me from getting a landing visa and should I simply leave the night before.

Richard, I personally think that you still can make use of 72 hours free transit in Shanghai if you check in within 72 hours. But you may contact the airport to confirm this.
