About:China Work Visa

Over age 60 and seeking employment

In the US there are special visas that are issued to outstanding scholars. I am a native speaker of English. I have two doctorates in education with high honors, am TESOL certified, and have taught English in China for three years from 2007 through 2009. Is there any way that I can be issued a "special" visa to teach English, even though I am over 60 years old?

Alfred, it’s possible for you to get a work Z type to teach English in PRC even though you are over 60 days. The age limit is to ensure your rights and interests, so if you can find a school to hire you, you can probably get the work Z type.

60 is the retirement age in China. Probably cannot. But if you are an expert with a lot of teaching experience. Maybe yes.
