About:China Work Visa

Z visa Over-age and purpose of medical?

It seems that at as male 69 years old I am too old to fit the template requirement for a work permit, Z type.
Three questions...
1. Is there any room for negotiation on the age criteria? It does not matter to my prospective employer?
2. Is the medical merely a validation of the health questions asked on the application or are they seeking deeper health issues eg organ weaknesses: hypertension, kidney weakness.
3. would it be better if I came to China and helped my prospective employer negotiate the z type process by my personal presence. I am not a chinese speaker. Though a presentable mature male.

1. William, actually, it’s not that strict. The age limit is to protect the employees’ rights and interests. If your employer and you agree on it, it’s possible for you to get work Z type.
2. As long as one is health, or his/her medical condition doesn’t affect the daily life and work, I don’t think it will be a big problem.
3. It’s not necessary for you to enter PRC. You can just wait for your employer to get the work permit and invitation letter of a duly authorized unit to you. You just need to provide all the required documents and wait for the result.
